I don’t tend to follow music very carefully, probably because there is reason to believe that it’s getting worse with time. Here is a video presentation of the same notion:
Given my avoidance of pop music perhaps it isn’t surprising that I had never heard of Buckethead (Brian Patrick Carroll). He named himself Buckethead after donning a mask and a KFC bucket on his head–it seemed like a good idea at the time; I mean the mask.
You can compare his music to the conclusions of the aforementioned study, only one instrument, moderate repetition, and no lyrics. But I find it appealing.
